Nelle Steele is an exploratory researcher trained in anthropology who specializes in uncovering people's implicit needs and goals, and then working with product teams to develop insights and recommendations to help shape product development and strategy. She worked at Microsoft from 2000-2014 in the Windows, Office, Office Labs and Ultra Mobile PC engineering teams. Since 2014 she has run her own company to conduct exploratory research for new product development with software, hardware and medical devices clients. Working on ambiguous, thorny, early-term projects with multi-disciplinary teams is her first love and dreaming about helping to create great space exploration experiences is a close second. Nelle holds masters degrees in Anthropology and Industrial Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and lives with her husband and two teen/tween children in Seattle, WA.
